TOUR COUNTDOWN CONTINUES

There is now less than one month to go before United return to action, on this summer's pre-season tour of North America.

The Reds meet Celtic in Toronto, Canada on Friday 16 July and with both sides finishing second in their respective British leagues last season, they'll be champing at the bit to go one better in the new campaign.

Sir Alex Ferguson vows, "We’ll be taking our tour games very seriously because the stage we’ll be at in terms of our pre-season preparation means we need to get our show on the road. The tempo and rhythm of our game has got to be established quickly. Hopefully the fans in Canada and the US will see us at our best."

Local fans can't wait to see the likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Dimitar Berbatov play on their patch. Michael Singer, chairman of the Manchester United Supporters Club in Canada, says: "I'm so looking forward to seeing the Reds at the Rogers Center, a jewel of a stadium with a retractable roof. I saw a match there a few years ago between Roma and Celtic and the atmosphere was brilliant. I'm sure the atmosphere will be even better for the United game."

Tour 2010 will also take the Reds to Philadelphia (21 July), Kansas (25 July) and Houston (28 July). ManUtd.com is giving away tickets to all four matches.
