WOLVES NEXT IN WAYNE'S SIGHTS

Wayne Rooney's hunting a Black Country double this weekend as Wolves follow their local rivals in crossing Manchester United's league path.

Last Sunday, the striker netted twice in a home win over West Brom - no doubt to the delight of Wolves fans. But now the boot is on the other foot for those supporters, as Rooney rides into their town in pursuit of three more run-in points for the Reds.

"It's a massive game for us, particularly given that Manchester City don't play until Wednesday," Rooney told Red View. "We have a chance to go four points clear at the top of the table and we have to get the win."

Rooney scored again in Thursday's Europa League defeat to Athletic Club, a result which leaves the Reds with a singular focus on the Barclays Premier League. Not that Wayne thinks this will make life any easier at Molineux on Sunday.

"We've had tough games there in the last couple of seasons and we need to be at our best to win. Wolves are fighting for their lives after going through a bit of a sticky patch and seeing Mick McCarthy leave. I'm sure it's been hard for them to lift themselves, but from our point of view when you go to the home of a team fighting to survive it's always very difficult. So we know we need to play well to win."

NEVILLE BACKS PALS TO PLAY ON

A year after hanging up his own boots, Gary Neville is adamant Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes will only join him in retirement when it suits them...

It's like when people ask who's going to replace the manager - it's a waste of time trying to predict it. Ryan will go on for as long as he wants to, and the same goes for Paul. These people are incredible people who defeat time. They've got that much class and quality that they could probably play into their forties at a level that will still give Manchester United a great level of impetus and value.

You're at the point now where they can sit in the centre of midfield and dictate and control the tempo of the match, provide passes that no-one else can, provide moments of quality at the right moment that nobody else can deliver. When you ask how long can they go on, the answer is as long  as they want to. It'll get to the point where it's them who makes the decision, rather than the club.

Because they're being used in  an intelligent manner and not being asked to play every two or three days, they're able to play every week and still produce the running stats of a younger player. I'm mesmerised when I watch the quality and the experience of them, and the longevity. We're witnessing greatness before our eyes.

BERBATOV ANSWERS THE FANS

Dimitar Berbatov responds to queries from United Review readers...

Which United legend do you look up to? Michael Morrison
There are so many. I have great respect for the players I play with now and the things they have achieved. Obviously United have a history of great players - Sir Bobby Charlton, Eric Cantona, Denis Law, George Best... but to pick out one is disrespectful to the others.

What are your plans after football - coaching, punditry, acting or will you just ride off into the sunset? Red Devil Mank
[Laughs] I haven't thought about it really. I will probably go home [to Bulgaria]. I'd like to work with kids so maybe set up a football academy and if someone gave me a role in a movie perhaps I would take it!

What's your favourite career moment at United? greatdane0
My debut when I first pulled on the red shirt [in 2008] and every game since. Winning the league stands out but just being able to wear the shirt is the best thing for me.

Which United goal would you rate as your best? Kayzer Dharsi
Maybe my overhead kick against Liverpool [last season] - that was nice, although I might change it to the third one I scored in that game because it helped us win!

Is there anything special you do in training to maintain your exquisite touch? Tasneem
[Smiles] I'm lucky that I was gifted with the technique I have. When I was younger I worked hard on technical skills with my father and youth coach and as time passes by you keep improving and learning.
